About myFIREplan.ch
An independent Swiss guide to financial independence: a calculator you can trust, articles in plain words, and methods anyone can check.
What we do
myFIREplan.ch helps people in Switzerland answer one question: when could I stop needing a salary? We build a free calculator that knows AHV, the pension fund, Pillar 3a and Swiss taxes, and we write articles that explain the rules behind it in plain words, in English, German, French and Italian.
Our promise is stressless FIRE. You do not have to hit a magic number to win. Every year of buffer buys options, "enough" is a plan, and spending your money down on purpose is a goal, not a failure.
Who is behind it
myFIREplan.ch is an independent project run by Nick Steiner in Zurich, Switzerland. It is not part of a bank, an insurer or a financial adviser. Legal details are in the imprint.
How we work
- Numbers first, sources always. Every Swiss rule in the calculator comes from an official source and carries a verification date. The methodology page lists them all.
- Honest about uncertainty. We show assumptions next to results, explain risks such as a bad first decade in the markets, and never present an estimate as a promise.
- Private by design. Calculations run in your browser. We do not ask for an account, and your numbers are not sent to us.
- Education, not advice. We do not know your situation and we do not sell financial products. Read the disclaimer.
Editorial independence
The site may show one clearly labelled advertisement per page. Advertisers never influence calculations, defaults or articles, and we do not write paid content. How ads work is described on the advertise page.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We fix errors quickly, note material corrections at the end of the article with the date, and update the calculator when a rule changes.
Accessibility
We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard access everywhere, visible focus, readable contrast in Day and Night mode, text alternatives for charts and pages that work on screens as small as 320 pixels. If something does not work for you, please let us know.
