FIRE
Financial independence, retire early. Saving and investing until your savings can pay for your life, so work becomes optional.
The idea is less about stopping work than about choice. In Switzerland a FIRE plan has to bridge the years until AHV, the pension fund and Pillar 3a become available. Many people use independence to work part-time, change careers or take long breaks rather than retire completely.
